Colonel Basri Shabani, Director of the Regional Police Directorate in Prishtina, is currently visiting the United States as part of a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the American Councils for International Education, the Kosovo Police announced.
During his stay in Washington, D.C., and Detroit, Shabani met with representatives from:
- American Councils for International Education
- U.S. Department of Justice
- Local police and public safety departments in Washington and Detroit
- Sheriff’s Office and Police Commission Board in Detroit
- Community representatives and legal experts focusing on police-community trust
Shabani also participated in programs covering community policing, criminal justice, and the role of neighborhood officers.
The visit will continue in Illinois, Missouri, and Florida until October 11, 2025, following the program agenda.
