Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared that Ukraine is ready to support a ceasefire, but emphasized that no territorial concessions will be made to Russia.

Speaking in Brussels, where he is attending the EU Leaders’ Summit, Zelensky made the remarks alongside European Council President António Costa.

Commenting on the European Union’s 19th package of sanctions against Russia, Zelensky said the measure is highly significant, stressing that Moscow has no intention of ending the war. He urged the EU to further increase pressure on Russia and expressed gratitude for the bloc’s continued support.

“A ceasefire is still possible, and my country is ready to support it,” Zelensky stated. “However, the ceasefire must be fair and sustainable. We will not make any territorial concessions.”

When asked about potential deliveries of long-range “Tomahawk” missiles from the United States, Zelensky said that the decision rests with Washington. He also highlighted the importance of U.S. energy sanctions against Russia and voiced confidence that missile deliveries could follow in the near future.

Zelensky’s comments come amid mounting international efforts to bring the nearly four-year Russia-Ukraine war to a negotiated pause, while ensuring Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty remain intact.
