Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the overnight Russian attacks in Ukraine, reporting that at least four people were killed and 20 residential buildings were damaged.
Among the damaged buildings was the Qatari Embassy, Zelenskyy noted, emphasizing that Qatar plays a significant role in mediating with Russia to secure the release of prisoners of war and detained civilians.
Zelenskyy also accused Russia of carrying out a “double attack”, stating that the second strike occurred precisely when first responders were providing aid after the initial attack.
He confirmed that efforts were underway to restore heating and electricity for affected residents, with further meetings planned to address the issue throughout the day.
Zelenskyy called for a clear international response, particularly from the United States, noting that Russia pays close attention to U.S. signals. He stressed that Russia must focus on diplomacy and face consequences whenever it resorts to killing and infrastructure destruction.
The president added that the attacks underscore the importance of continued support for Ukraine’s air defense, emphasizing that no day should be lost in aid deliveries, production, or agreements.
