Emilija Rexhepi, former Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo and representative of the Bosniak community, has stated that she is satisfied with the results of the recent elections, describing them as very positive both for the political subject NDS and for her personal representation in the Assembly.

“I am very pleased that we achieved a very good result in these elections as NDS, but also personally as the most vocal deputy among all representatives of non-majority communities. I sincerely thank everyone for the trust that has continued since 2009,” Rexhepi said in a statement to Front Online.

The former Deputy Speaker said that communication with the Prime Minister took place only immediately after the completion of the electoral process, noting that they have not yet met regarding the formation of the new government.

“I communicated with the Prime Minister only right after the elections, when we congratulated each other on the electoral result. We have not yet met to discuss the formation of the government, especially considering that the CEC has not yet officially published the results,” Rexhepi said.

According to Rexhepi, the main priority at this stage remains the functionalization of state institutions, in order to fulfill commitments made to citizens.

“My priority is the functionality of institutions, both the parliament and the government, so that we can begin implementing the projects we promised to citizens,” she added.

At the end, the former Deputy Speaker also confirmed her position regarding the process of electing the President of the country.

“Of course, I will vote for the President when the time comes,” Rexhepi said.
