Albanian police have mobilized at maximum readiness ahead of a protest called by the opposition today at 17:00, deploying measures to address any potential scenario. Security personnel will be stationed not only at the Prime Minister’s Office but also at the Parliament and other key institutions.
According to police sources cited by A2 CNN, approximately 1,400 officers will be engaged, including riot police, FNSH units, Shqiponjat, and other specialized structures. RENEA forces will also be on standby if needed. Additionally, the Republic Guard is fully prepared to safeguard government institutions.
During the protest, all officers will be equipped with gas masks, and water cannon trucks will be positioned behind the Prime Minister’s Office and near Parliament to respond to potential incidents. Standard security cordons will be established around key government buildings, supported by plainclothes agents monitoring the event.
The Prime Minister’s Office doors are reinforced with metal barriers, and high-resolution cameras have been installed along Bulevardi “Dëshmorët e Kombit”. Roads around the Prime Minister’s Office will be blocked from 15:00 until the end of the protest.
Police in Tirana held a coordination meeting with all local police chiefs and district heads to outline duties for maintaining public order, safety, and smooth conduct of the protest. Officers were instructed to remain calm, avoid provocation, and intervene only when necessary, minimizing confrontations with protesters.
