Racial violence and discrimination against youth continue to be a severe issue in our society, where ethnic identity is often used as a justification for acts of violence. A recent alarming case occurred in Obiliq, where a 15-year-old from the Ashkali community was physically attacked during a football match, reports Sinjali.

The victim, Belgin Jashari, a player for the U15 team of ShF Fushë Kosova, was brutally attacked on April 21 during a match against ShF Arsenal. The attack took place in front of numerous witnesses.

The suspect in this disturbing incident has been identified as Januz Faniqi, around 46 years old, who without any justifiable reason, physically attacked the minor.

Following this, Belgin Jashari has been invited as a special guest to Barça Camp Kosova 2025, an opportunity that will help heal wounds and strengthen belief in the power of sport to unite and bring friendship.

Barça Camp Kosova sent a clear message to Belgin Jashari and all the children involved:

“Sport is love, respect, and unity – not violence and prejudice.”

The invitation to Belgin serves as a symbol of support, respect, and belief in the power of sport to heal wounds and build bridges of friendship.
