With banners in their hands reading “When you can’t afford bread, you don’t need lights” and “Our wages aren’t enough to survive, yet you raise electricity prices,” hundreds of citizens gathered in Prishtina to protest the increase in electricity prices.
The protest, which began at 12:00, is being held on the same day the Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) was expected to issue its final decision regarding a 15% electricity price increase.
Through this protest, citizens are expressing their dissatisfaction with the rising cost of energy, clearly opposing ZRRE’s potential decision for a price hike.
Meanwhile, businesses and citizens have also voiced their concerns and reacted strongly following the announcement of a possible electricity price increase.
