Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has warned that Israeli military operations in Syria and Lebanon have reached a level that poses a threat not only to those countries but also to Turkey.
In his remarks, Erdoğan argued that what he described as Israeli aggression is endangering regional stability and called for an immediate end to the attacks.
“The attacks carried out by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his network against Lebanon and Syria have brought the situation to a point where it also constitutes a threat to Turkey,” Erdoğan said.
The Turkish president further accused Israel of pursuing policies aimed at destabilizing countries in Africa and the Mediterranean region. He also referred to the situation in Cyprus, suggesting that certain actors in the Eastern Mediterranean have aligned themselves with Israeli policies.
Erdoğan warned that any violation of Turkey’s rights or those of Turkish Cypriots in the Eastern Mediterranean would receive a strong response from Ankara.
He also called on major world powers to take action regarding Israel, arguing that the international community’s silence has emboldened Israeli policies.
“Bringing Israel back within the framework of the rule of law has become a shared responsibility not only for a few countries, but for all of humanity,” Erdoğan stated.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions across the Middle East, with conflicts involving Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and regional actors continuing to fuel concerns about wider instability.
