State leaders, political representatives, diplomats, civil society figures, and distinguished guests gathered in Pristina to celebrate France’s National Day, reaffirming the strong partnership between Kosovo and France.
During the ceremony, French Ambassador to Kosovo Olivier Guérot praised the growing bilateral relationship, highlighting expanding cooperation across multiple sectors while stressing the importance of establishing fully functional institutions in Kosovo. He noted that stronger political stability is essential for advancing cooperation and concluding new agreements between the two countries.
“I call on all political leaders in this country, without exception, regardless of their party affiliation or the community they represent, to find a path toward compromise and overcome the current institutional deadlock, a situation that no citizen is satisfied with,” Ambassador Guérot said.
He added that Kosovo has a genuine opportunity to advance on its European integration path, emphasizing that France will remain a committed and reliable partner.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that the partnership between Kosovo and France is becoming increasingly tangible and robust, driven by political dialogue, institutional cooperation, cultural engagement, and educational exchanges.
“Today, our partnership is becoming more concrete and stronger. We see this through political dialogue, institutional cooperation, cultural engagement, and educational exchanges. It goes beyond declarations—it is translated into action, builds trust, and serves a shared European purpose. Our future in the European Union is not merely an accession process, but a democratic choice, institutional discipline, and our natural place among the nations of Europe,” Kurti said.
Speaking about Kosovo’s European future, Kurti emphasized that EU integration represents not only a membership process but also a democratic commitment and a path toward stronger institutions.
The National Day celebration underscored the enduring friendship between Kosovo and France, highlighting their shared commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties, cultural cooperation, and Kosovo’s European perspective.
