The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, is currently in the United States, where he is meeting with the Albanian diaspora. On Sunday, at the Albanian-American Association from Struga in Riverdale, New Jersey, Kurti delivered a speech to attendees.
“With great enthusiasm at the meeting with compatriots at the Albanian-American Association from Struga in Riverdale, New Jersey,” wrote the Vetëvendosje Movement when sharing the video.
During his speech, Kurti emphasized the importance of NATO’s intervention for the liberation of Kosovo, mentioning the massacre in Račak as a decisive moment that led to NATO’s involvement.
Kurti stated that NATO’s intervention and its planes liberated Kosovo after 87 years of occupation. He also referenced the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
The event was also attended by Ambassador William Walker.
“The truth from William Walker’s statement in Račak, Shtime on January 15, 1999, shocked and raised awareness not only in global diplomacy but also in international public opinion, marking a decisive moment that eventually led to NATO’s intervention to support Kosovo and its people, who faced genocide from Serbia, people who had the KLA by their side, but also NATO’s planes to rescue us from that humanitarian crisis and to liberate Kosovo after 87 years of occupation,” Kurti stated.
