The Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić, known for his pro-Russian stance and close ties with Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik, stated today that the Republic of Kosovo should release three Montenegrin citizens who were arrested and placed under a 30-day detention order. The three individuals were detained after visiting the Deçan Monastery, where they had written “Kosovo is Serbia” on their vehicle license plates.

Mandić, who is also known for his anti-Kosovo position, referred to the Republic of Kosovo as the “administration in Priština” and demanded the immediate release of the three Montenegrin citizens, arguing that there was no reason for their detention or punishment.

In an interview with Politika, Mandić said: “Montenegro calls on the administration in Priština and insists that its three citizens be released as soon as possible because there is no reason for Orthodox Christian worshipers, who visited our shrines in Kosovo, to be detained and punished under such miserable pretexts.”

The Police of Kosovo arrested three individuals from Nikšić because the vehicle plates they were using during their visit to the Deçan Monastery on November 24th bore the inscription “Kosovo is Serbia.”

Two days after their detention, the Basic Court in Pejë ordered one month of detention for Rajko Krivokapić (34), Marinko Jovanović (24), and Dragutin Llallatović (24).

The prosecutor in Pejë has charged them with the criminal offense of “incitement to hatred and intolerance.”
