Pro-Western Government Wins Parliamentary Elections in Armenia

The party of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has won the country’s parliamentary elections, widely regarded as a decisive vote on Armenia’s future orientation toward the West.

According to the published results, Pashinyan’s centrist Civil Contract party secured 49.8% of the vote, emerging as the leading political force in the country.

The Strong Armenia Alliance finished second with 23.2%, while the Armenia Alliance received 9.9% of the vote.

The elections took place amid political and economic tensions, with increasing pressure from Russia and ongoing domestic challenges following recent developments in the South Caucasus region.

Following the announcement of the results, Pashinyan declared victory, stating that the outcome reflects the Armenian people’s desire for peace, development, and international cooperation.

The election is expected to reinforce Armenia’s recent efforts to strengthen ties with Western partners while navigating a complex geopolitical environment in the South Caucasus.
