Kosovo’s snap parliamentary elections held yesterday recorded the lowest voter turnout of the last five electoral cycles, according to official data.

Only 36.88% of eligible voters participated in the election, marking the lowest level of electoral participation in the past seven years.

The decline is significant when compared to previous elections. In the 28 December 2025 parliamentary elections, turnout reached 45.36%, while in the 9 February 2025 elections it stood at 46.54%.

The highest voter turnout in recent years was recorded during the 14 February 2021 parliamentary elections, when 48.78% of eligible voters cast their ballots.

Likewise, the 6 October 2019 elections saw a higher level of participation, with 44.56% of voters taking part in the process.

The latest figures indicate growing voter apathy and a notable decline in electoral engagement, making the 2026 election the least attended parliamentary vote in Kosovo since 2019.
