Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized Russia for failing to provide an adequate response to the U.S. ceasefire initiative, blaming the delay on a lack of real international pressure on Moscow.

In his evening address, Zelensky stated that the American proposal for an unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine has been on the table for too long without a meaningful reaction from Russia.

Although Moscow and Kyiv tentatively agreed to a Black Sea truce following recent talks with U.S. officials, Russia later demanded the lifting of certain Western sanctions before implementing the agreement.

“The ceasefire could have already taken effect if there were real pressure on Russia,” Zelensky emphasized.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has pushed for a quick resolution to the conflict, but his administration has yet to secure concrete progress despite indirect negotiations with both sides.

Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected the U.S.-Ukraine proposal for a 30-day ceasefire and, on Friday, suggested that Zelensky should be removed from office as part of the peace process—a demand that sparked strong backlash from Kyiv.
