Today, Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla, together with the Mayor of South Mitrovica Faton Peci and Deputy Mayor Enis Osmani, held a solemn tribute at the memorial plaque honoring the three children from the village of Çabër, known as the “Three Flowers of Çabër”: Egzon Deliu (13), Avni Veseli (12), and Florent Veseli (9).
According to the municipal statement, the anniversary commemorated the tragic loss that deeply affected the community and remains an open wound for society. Mayor Peci emphasized that the children were stopped in the middle of their play by an armed group of Serbs and chased to the Ibër River, where only one child, Fitim Veseli, survived.
This tribute highlights the enduring impact of the March 2004 unrest, a tragic episode that continues to shape the collective memory of Kosovo’s communities.
