EU’s top diplomat Kaja Kallas said an urgent solution is needed to end the war in the Middle East, stressing that escalation only worsens the situation.
She condemned attacks by Iran on energy infrastructure in Qatar, warning that they are increasing chaos in the region. Kallas added that the conflict is also affecting the situation in Ukraine, as Russia is benefiting from the rising tensions.
She also emphasized that EU countries are not ready to become involved in the war and do not support expanding operations in the Strait of Hormuz, raising questions about the international legal basis for the use of force.
