Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has called for the release of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi and the others currently standing trial before the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
In a social media post, Rama wrote “Freedom for the liberators,” while describing the judicial process as a farce and saying that it is now entering its final days.
Rama said that, regardless of what may be expected from what he described as the authors of this process, no one can take Thaçi’s freedom away from him.
“The farce is in its final days, and one can expect anything from its authors, but as Hashim himself has said, no one, anywhere, can take away his freedom. Just as Kosovo triumphed by believing in freedom even when it had no one and nothing except its own thirst for freedom, Hashim Thaçi will also triumph through the strength of his truth, which the years in prison have only made greater, together with the support of all Albanians,” Rama wrote.
