Netanyahu Asked to Respond to Hezbollah for Attack in Golan…

RKS NEWS

Israel’s security cabinet has authorized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Galant to decide on the timing and manner in which Israeli forces will respond to the attack in the village of Majdal Shams, in the Golan Heights, during which at least 12 young members of the Druze community were killed.

Although Israel has already struck a series of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, these attacks appear to have been an immediate reaction, and Tel Aviv is now preparing a massive response to the attack in the Golan Heights. Various airlines have announced that they have suspended flights to and from Beirut airport in anticipation of a major Israeli attack.

Hezbollah continues to deny responsibility for the Majdal Shams attack, adding that the youths were killed as a result of a missile falling from Israeli air defense.

However, Hezbollah leaders are also threatening that in the event of a massive Israeli attack, their fighters will be ready for open warfare.

Tel Aviv, however, claims to have evidence that Hezbollah was behind the attack, stating that the village was hit by an Iranian-made Falaq missile, which is in Hezbollah’s arsenal, and adding that they are aware of the exact position from which the missile was launched.

At the same time, the United Nations and several other organizations have called on both sides to exercise restraint in an attempt to prevent another open regional war that could cause tens of thousands of new casualties.
