U.S. soldiers assigned to Regional Command – East of the NATO-led KFOR mission carried out a joint training exercise with members of the Kosovo Mountain Search and Rescue Association.

The training aimed to enhance emergency preparedness and strengthen cooperation between KFOR troops and local first responders. The drills included emergency medical care, high-angle rescues, rope descent techniques, and diving training.

“KFOR continues to implement its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244, contributing to a safe and secure environment for all communities in Kosovo and ensuring freedom of movement, impartially and without interruption,” read the mission’s official statement on Facebook.

KFOR operates in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) to ensure effective crisis response and civilian safety.
