Natyra Kuçi, candidate of the Social Democratic Party, cast her vote today at the “Lidhja e Prizrenit” school in Carrabreg, Deçan, accompanied by her parents.

After voting, Kuçi reported several incidents that occurred during the local election process but encouraged citizens to exercise their right to vote.

She stated:

“So far, the process has experienced some incidents, which we have reported. For example, the deputy director of education reportedly applied pressure for 30-40 minutes, and Hajdar Sutaj, chair of the municipal assembly and list leader, was present earlier in the school allegedly applying pressure. We know that for 23 years, such pressure has been common. However, I believe this time people will vote despite the fear and pressure, for the good and future of Deçan. Citizens should vote as massively as possible.”

The municipal assembly chair, Hajdar Sutaj, denied the allegations, stating he visited the polling station with his family to vote and did not exert any pressure on voters. He criticized the accusations as part of a politically motivated campaign.

Additionally, an incident was reported at the polling station where one person photographed their vote, prompting police and prosecution involvement.

Deçan Voting Details:

  • Eligible voters: 43,759 (41,444 in Kosovo, 2,320 from the diaspora)
