Former President Behgjet Pacolli marked the 81st birthday of Kosovo’s historic leader, Ibrahim Rugova, by sharing a decades-old photograph of the two together, accompanied by a heartfelt tribute to Rugova’s legacy.

In a message posted on Facebook, Pacolli described Rugova as an enduring source of inspiration for all those who love Kosovo and believe that the country’s future must be built through vision, wisdom, and dedicated work.

“Today, on December 2, President Ibrahim Rugova would have turned 81. This old photo, taken decades ago, reminds me of our many meetings – calm, thoughtful, and always devoted to Kosovo,” Pacolli wrote.

He emphasized Rugova’s defining qualities, noting that the former president was a symbol of wisdom, patience, and peace, and “a man who, with his iron calm, laid the foundations of our statehood.”

Pacolli concluded his message by honoring Rugova’s lifelong contribution: “Glory to his life and work.”
