At the request of Colombia, the United Nations Security Council will convene on Monday to discuss the capture of Nicolás Maduro by the United States, Reuters reports.

The request is supported by Russia and China, diplomats said.

The 15-member body has met twice before—once in October and again in December—over rising tensions between the United States and Venezuela.

Earlier today, a spokesperson for UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the U.S. military operation constitutes “a dangerous precedent.”
