Counting of Conditional and Special Needs Votes Expected to Finish Today, Says KEC

PRISTINA, Jan 6 – The Central Election Commission (KEC) announced that the counting of conditional votes and votes from persons with special needs from the early parliamentary elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, held on December 28, 2025, is ongoing and expected to conclude today.

According to the KEC, as of 4:00 PM on January 6, 49 out of 57 polling stations where conditional voting was enabled have been counted. This includes votes from citizens with special needs.

Data from the KEC indicate that, across 57 conditional voting locations in 38 municipalities, over 9,900 registered voters cast conditional ballots, while 2,860 persons with special needs participated in the voting process.

Preliminary results show that, with approximately 90% of conditional votes counted:

  • Vetëvendosje leads with 50.30%,
  • Followed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 20.20%,
  • Democratic League of Kosovo with 10.51%, and
  • Alliance for the Future of Kosovo with 5.85%.

The KEC emphasized that counting is proceeding in accordance with legal procedures and results will be officially confirmed once all conditional and special needs votes are fully processed.
