Morgan McSweeney has resigned as Chief of Staff to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
In explaining his resignation, McSweeney said that Starmer’s decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as the UK ambassador to the United States in 2024 was a mistake.
“After careful reflection, I have decided to resign from government. The decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was wrong. It has damaged our party, our country, and trust in politics itself,” his statement said.
Peter Mandelson has been mentioned in connection with Jeffrey Epstein in documents released by the US Department of Justice.
