The Presidency of Kosovo has announced that Apple Pay is now officially available in the country — a milestone hailed as a major step forward for Kosovo’s digital integration.
In a statement, the Presidency said that on 8 May, the Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Learta Hollaj, held an online meeting with Apple’s headquarters, together with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo and the U.S. Embassy, with support from the U.S. State Department.
The Presidency said the aim of the presentation was to highlight the challenges Kosovo faces regarding access to Apple’s platforms and services — and to emphasize their impact on Kosovo’s business environment and digital sovereignty.
“With the launch of Apple Pay, Kosovo is taking important, concrete steps towards full integration into the global digital ecosystem,” the statement said.
The Presidency added that for over a year, it has been working closely with the American Chamber of Commerce and coordinating with the U.S. Embassy to advance Kosovo’s digital sovereignty and secure its inclusion in major global platforms.
