Kosovo Police have carried out two separate operations against suspected drug trafficking in Peja and Ferizaj, seizing more than 16 kilograms of marijuana and arresting three people.
In Ferizaj, police arrested two suspects — one Albanian citizen and one Kosovo citizen. Searches conducted as part of the operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 5.5 kilograms of suspected marijuana, a firearm and ammunition, €2,250, 18,500 Albanian lek, a vehicle, drug-packaging equipment, mobile phones and other material evidence.
The two suspects were detained for 48 hours following consultations with the competent prosecutor.
In Peja, police searched a location and seized approximately 10.5 kilograms of suspected marijuana, a mobile phone and a memory card. One person was arrested and placed in 48-hour detention, while another suspect remains at large.
The operations were conducted by the Kosovo Police Directorate for the Investigation of Narcotics Trafficking.
The cases remain under investigation, with authorities continuing to pursue the suspects and examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged trafficking activities.
