On the 26th anniversary of the heroic fall of Dalip Behra and Bekim Gashi, the Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid tribute in Krushë e Madhe, honoring their lives and sacrifices for the freedom of Kosovo.

He said that we have gathered to remember their fall as a sublime act that illuminates the future of our state and society. Kurti emphasized that the ideals that guided the martyrs should be a guide for everyone, regardless of position or circumstances.

“During the war, the song of freedom never stopped. And it will not stop in peace,” he said. According to Kurti, this is proof of the pride we feel for those who gave their lives for Kosovo, and at the same time, a reminder of the responsibility we have to continue their path.

Kurti also mentioned the influence that figures like Ukshin Hoti and Ismet Gashi had on the formation and resilience of these martyrs, emphasizing that the connection of generations is what builds history and guides the future.

He stressed that the fighters of the KLA had a dual mission: to fight the enemy and to protect the population. This mission was fulfilled by Dalip Behra and Bekim Gashi, who, after the massacre in Krushë, continued the battle until their heroic fall.

In the end, Kurti said that the history of Kosovo is not only in books but is alive in every citizen, and that the proximity of these events in time makes the responsibility even greater to preserve security, strengthen defense institutions, and protect every corner of our country.
