Zoran Milanović has accused Aleksandar Vučić of spreading fear and exaggerating tensions, stressing that Croatia has no intention of attacking Serbia.
Speaking after a meeting in Rijeka with Nataša Pirc Musar, Milanović addressed the cancellation of the Brdo-Brijuni Process summit, placing responsibility on Vučić.
“It is a useful forum for dialogue. No major issues are solved there, we are aware of that. But unfortunately, the President of Serbia is exaggerating and putting me, as host, in an impossible position,” Milanović said.
He rejected claims suggesting military threats, adding: “I don’t want to have to explain that Croatia will not attack Serbia with tanks, while he has been saying that very convincingly all along.”
Milanović also criticized the tone of political discourse, emphasizing that words must carry responsibility and meaning, and warned against inflammatory rhetoric.
Meanwhile, Pirc Musar noted that efforts are ongoing to continue the Brdo-Brijuni Process, although a new host has yet to be confirmed.
