The Times: Russia plans to eliminate the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence

Members of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) planned to kill the Ukrainian head of the Military Intelligence Agency of Ukraine (GUR) Kirill Budanov and that they followed the every move of President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the Family Service (SBU) Vasiliy Malyuk, according to a The Times report.

An unnamed Ukrainian official told The Times that the SBU had been monitoring two State Security Administration (SPO) convoys, Andrei Guk and Aleksandr Dekach, for several months, who planned to kill Budanov, and monitored Malyuk and Zelensky.

According to reports, during preparations for Budanov’s assassination, the suspects brought grenade launchers, anti-personnel mines and suicide drones to Kiev.
