Kosovo’s Acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, participated in a reception organized by the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo in honor of Professor Hisashi Owada, former President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Kurti expressed lasting gratitude to Professor Owada for his leadership at the ICJ during the issuance of the advisory opinion that confirmed the legality of Kosovo’s declaration of independence.
“Professor Owada is not just an honored guest of Kosovo – he is a friend, whose contributions are deeply interwoven with our national history. His leadership in international law and his commitment to peace and justice have left an indelible mark on our collective memory,” Kurti stated.
Earlier today, the University of Prishtina awarded Professor Owada the honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa in an academic ceremony held in his honor.
