Technical workers in the private sector are staging protests demanding higher wages, with one demonstration taking place in front of the central administration of the Clinical and University Hospital of Kosovo (QKUK).
The protest is organized by the Trade Union Federation of Technical Workers in the Private Sector.
Jusuf Azemi, head of the federation, stated that the protests are being held in over 20 municipalities.
“Since May, we have warned that we cannot continue working with these wages. Across more than 20 municipalities, we have been holding peaceful protests. We warn that after the municipal elections, we will halt all work. We cannot enter November with these wages,” Azemi declared.
He also emphasized that the union demands private sector technical workers’ salaries be equal to those in the public sector.
The protests highlight growing tensions over wage disparities and labor rights in Kosovo’s private sector.
