Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the European Political Community Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he spoke about the country’s progress in EU accession negotiations.

“We are not waiting, we are running. Running very fast. We will be ready very soon, and it is up to the big players in the room to no longer delay, but to embrace us and welcome us, because we will be a great added value for the EU,” Rama stated.

Lessons Albania Can Offer the EU

When asked if the EU could learn anything from Albania, Rama responded:
“There are many lessons. To act as one and achieve convergence in everything related to security, which has not been the case so far. There are many discrepancies regarding information and data. Most importantly, not only to strengthen the military aspect but to have a European peace plan.”

Rama praised the summit format as:
“The best thing that has happened after the European Union itself. It represents the future of Europe. The faster we move in this direction, the better it is, because other players are showing considerable strength. Europe as a whole appears weak precisely because it is not united.”
