The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, cast her vote today and urged citizens to participate massively in the local elections, highlighting the importance of voter turnout for strengthening democracy in the country.

“Today is an important day for the democracy of our country, and the more massive, orderly, and free the electoral process, the stronger our democracy will be. I wish success to everyone participating in these elections. I hope this process will yield results in the best interest of our citizens,” Osmani stated.

She emphasized that the right to vote is a significant post-war achievement and that citizens must make use of this opportunity.

“26 years after liberation, we have the right to compete and the right to vote. We exercise this fully in freedom, which is why it is important that citizens take advantage of their right to vote,” she said.

Osmani also addressed concerns about interference from Serbia, assuring that security institutions are fully engaged to guarantee a fair process.

“Regardless of these challenges, I am confident that our institutions will do everything possible to preserve electoral integrity,” concluded the President.
