The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated that five Kosovo police officers are being held hostage in Serbia. He accused Serbia of being the source of regional threats and seeking tensions in Kosovo.

Kurti, in front of the government cabinet, said that as a sign of retaliation for Kosovo’s membership vote in the Council of Europe, Serbia yesterday stopped and mistreated hundreds of Kosovar citizens passing through transit in Serbia.

He said that the deputy director of the Police from the Serbian community, Dejan Jankoviq, continues to be held in pretrial detention in Rashka.

Kurti called on the Foreign Ministers of the Council of Europe to accept Kosovo into the Council of Europe at the May meeting.
