The traditional “MARShojmë S’festojmë” (We March, We Don’t Celebrate) protest will take place today, March 8, in Prishtina, marking International Women’s Day.
The march, organized by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action, will begin at 12:00 PM at Zahir Pajaziti Square. Protesters aim to raise awareness about ongoing struggles against structural and everyday violence, as well as issues rooted in heteropatriarchy, capitalist inequality, and discriminatory ideologies.
“This march is about solidarity, care, and resistance. A feminist rupture against patriarchy, capitalism, and fascism,” the organizers stated in their call to action.
International Women’s Day serves as a global platform advocating for gender equality, reproductive rights, and an end to violence against women. In Kosovo, it continues to be a day of protest, urging systemic change rather than mere celebration.
