Germany has responded to Donald Trump’s idea of “cleansing” Gaza by relocating Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt.
Reuters quotes a spokesperson for the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs stating that the European Union, Arab partners, and the United Nations share the view that “the Palestinian population should not be expelled from Gaza, and Gaza should not be occupied or permanently recolonized by Israel.”
On Sunday, both Jordan and Egypt quickly rejected the idea of the new American president. A member of Hamas’ political bureau stated that the people in Gaza would “ruin… all plans for relocation and an alternative homeland.”
