The Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Kreshnik Radoniqi, has announced that the voting process has been completed at 25 of Kosovo’s diplomatic missions abroad.
During his third press conference on the process, Radoniqi stated that voting at diplomatic missions in the United States and Canada will conclude after midnight, according to Kosovo’s local time.
According to Radoniqi, the electoral process was conducted smoothly, in full compliance with the law and established procedures, and without any obstacles.
“We inform you that voting has concluded at 25 diplomatic missions in countries such as Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Slovenia, Denmark, Italy, Croatia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and the United Kingdom. According to Kosovo local time, voting at four additional missions in the United States and Canada will conclude at 01:00 after midnight.”
He added that throughout the day, the CEC remained in constant communication with diplomatic missions, providing necessary guidance to voting officials to ensure lawful and procedural conduct.
“Overall, based on continuous communication, the voting process was carried out without any impediments. On behalf of the CEC, we thank the heads and staff of diplomatic missions and members of the Polling Station Councils for their commitment.”
Radoniqi further revealed that, based on data from the 25 missions where voting has already closed, as well as preliminary data from voting in the U.S. and Canada as of 13:00, 15,597 out of 19,187 registered voters cast their ballots, representing a turnout of 81.29%.
In accordance with procedures, ballots will not be counted at diplomatic missions. Instead, they will be transported to Kosovo, where the counting process will take place in the coming days.
Out of a total of 19,187 registered voters abroad, 15,597 participated in the vote, achieving a turnout of 81.29%.
