A major fire has erupted at the “Comodita” mattress factory in Gjakovë.
Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and are currently working to contain and extinguish the flames.
According to the Kosovo Police, there are no reports of injuries so far, though verification is ongoing.
“At around 16:50, we were notified that a factory on ‘Gjerg Sokoli’ Street in Gjakovë had caught fire. Police units and firefighters responded immediately and are taking all necessary measures to contain and extinguish the fire. The blaze is large in scale, and emergency teams continue to work to bring the situation under control. Based on the information received so far, no injuries have been reported, but a full assessment of the situation and any potential impact on people will be conducted after the fire is completely extinguished,” said Sheremet Elezaj, spokesperson for the Gjakovë Police.
Emergency services remain on site, and the situation is being closely monitored as firefighting efforts continue.
